You caught the wind in your wings last evening
You didn't know you could lose sight of the ground if you flew
You didn't think you could fly at all
Yet here you are, at the top of the world,
Shivering
Waiting for the rain to take you back to the earth
The earth where you could stand firm
And breathe free
And live calm
Maybe this little earth with its simple joys
Will be enough for you for now
There will be time to scale the mountain peaks covered in frosty snow
And when your wings are stronger and your feathers thicker
There will be time to spread out your wings and see the earth far below
