Adam

There,

My loss

Closed, hopeless,

Helpless, fighting -

In a violence of

Emotion

I've got myself on my feet

And I'm staring,

Sad

At that gate that's been

Closed on me.

That entire land's now beyond me,

And I'm denied access

To my own sweet homeland

It don't have a name, you see,

Cos I'm Man, that generic figure

Shrouded in mystery.

But I been kicked out -

By my own doing, my own.

And am enraged at myself.

Poor land, sweet poor land,

Is there no one there

To water your plants

And tend this sheep anymore?

But there is,

There's One who waits for my re-entry.

You know the meanings of my poems.

I look at Him, God -

I'm in

Love

And I'm returning

There

Daily Writes

P1
I've become used to living
15 metres above sea level.
The air is breathless here,
So's the view. Closer to the clouds,
Closer to the heavens

P2
Now even in my dreams
I wear a mask
And carefully stand
Three feet from everyone.
Where are my old dreams?

P3
Oh the trails
We have blazed,
You and I,
Together,
In the light of the dying sun

P4
In the light of the dying sun,
I scribbled down a hasty poem
And flung it to the sunset
With a kiss smelling of
Deathlessness

P5
Maniac thoughts
Dance in my mind
Asking me
Ferociously
To write a poem

P6
This poem is what happens when
All the hopes you've placed on the skies are
Rudely dashed to the ground and
You are told that the only thing to do is
Rise before dawn and wait

P7
Heart break
Spat-out song
Merciless reality
Staring unseeing
At fate

P8
After that I lived a parody of my own life
And tweeted about the uncertain future
To the numb past and chortled as I watched
The birds of the sky fly upside down
And cried

P9

Poetry was a sort of way for me
To come to terms with absence
And misdirection, and vagueness,
Especially as I foraged into the future
Searching for the answer to the past

P10
God is the blessing
from which
I want
no
escape

P11
Way's narrow,
But there are highways
To heaven.
From the midst of the world
Into the spinning sun

P12
paradoxes
were my alphabet
when i set out
to write
a poem

P13
(prayer is what keeps me sane)
I wanted to tell you,
the other day -
you are
what keeps me
sane

P14
hey you,
destined for greatness,
flap those invisible wings
that i know you have -
and fly

P15
The wonderful thing is that
People still do things
For others
For free,
Expecting no reward at all

P16
I
deliquefy
my tears
and throw them to the skies

And I
subvert myself
and now
every breath is a laugh

P17

Each of us with finite centres
World of our own,
Not exceeding -
Crumbling -
Till the day of our transcendence

P18

Been dreaming of a time
When we all laughing with each other
Living each day without fear
Gifting smiles that we can at last see,
Cause we won't be wearing masks anymore

P19

Only if I tell you
"Your 'smaller' problems are bigger
Than my 'bigger' problems"
Will God say to me "Your tiny problems
Are big enough for me to see."

P20

I saw the other day,
As in a vision,
The richest poorest person
Smiling at me
With wounds in his hands

P21

To this planet
Or any other planet,
Dear God -
I'd go anywhere
For you

P22

This slab of steel
Not gonna give me
The transcendence
That I long for -
That's in the timeless moment

P23

I stepped inside an endless ring,
Found freedom from the pull of stars
I've dreamt of wine jars full of wine
And suddenly it's true and fine
This is no dream I live, it's truth
Where once was water now is wine.
Whose hands wrought this I surely know
His hands now hold the heart of light

At The Local Supermarket

Walked into the local supermarket.
One of the assistants came up to me
With a polite smile. "What do you want, sir?"
All that's around us is food,
Vegetables, shampoos, and more food.
I take a deep breath

Well what I want is not more time.
No, I'm not fed up with time,
I mean, what I want is timelessness,
A lot of it. I'd like to rest far, far away,
In a distant land, and think over things
For a century or two.
I just want to live forever, you know

The shop assistant stares at me, at a loss.
There will be a time for death to die,
But right now all that's around us is food,
Vegetables, shampoos, and more food

Grasping Reality

This, then, is insanity
To be bound as if by chains
To the contours of a shallow reality,
To blend with the system and dance with it
Like empty air ensconced in a hollow jar,
To refuse to swim into the deep heights
Of what is, beyond what seems

See reality for what it truly is
Grasp it by the tail, fly the skies
For the only what that saves is
Elusive evasion with the dancing river of light

Liberation

Liberated from the ambiguities of a never-arriving future,
Feeling the chains fall from the hands,
Unshackled from earth-existence
Living one foot in time, one foot out
Hand in hand with what's divine,
The timeless etched on all our hopes.
Love, the matter of reality
And its very embodiment, eternal God,
Leading us into the promised land of light

Raw Light In The Dark

Shivering as if in fear
But in reality shaking with amiable laughter,
All them billion years or older
And us mere fading wisps of smoke.
Raw light in the dark

Apparently black canvas jaded
With pinpointing diadems,
Celestial stadium of perpetual, ageless watchers,
Constellated hope of endless light for mankind.
Seems like the dark
Forces our race to find light

All us watching the stars,
And them watching us
