I opened my eyes and found pastures to my right,
Still waters to my left,
And the sky unfurling above me with an array of stars
And you, my Shepherd, watched over me as I danced and laughed about.
Weaving myself through the green pastures
I discovered with wonder the trees, the birds, the stars, the Sun
Weaving myself through the days and nights,
I grew older - and reality lost its spark of wonder
And then winter came.
I closed my eyes for a moment,
Opened them again,
And this time found myself face to face with my Shepherd, my Maker
The One who directs the stars of the night and the feet of my soul
His eyes drowned mine,
And winter blossomed into spring
Weaving myself through the green pastures
I danced in laughter and in gratitude,
Grateful for all the summers
You have deigned to bless me with
And grateful for the melody of miracles You, my God, have whispered through my life
